My Fujitsu Speedport modem, used for Verizon DSL (formerly GTE), failed yesterday. Since it has been installed since 2000, it is out of warranty. The only replacement I was able to find in a store is not supported by Verizon, so they won't help me with the settings, and the manufacturer (Netgear) can't help much either. I'm about ready to take it back and order a new modem through Verizon. I was just trying to avoid the wait.
I purchased a Netgear model # DG834G, which is a DSL and wireless router combo. None of the settings I've tried even let it detect the DSL line! (In other words, the green light that indicates an active connection to the phone jack stays off.)
Anybody have any ideas? |
