Hello,
This error may occur if
1. You are dialing an incorrect number to your ISP.
2. Also if your ISP have any problem or your telephone network is
disturbed.
3. Also if your modem is unable to handshake with remote modem before
allotted time.
Regards,
George. |

To fix this problem take some precaution ;
>> use modem speaker to hear the dialing sound. And make sure you
hear remote modem answer tones.
>> If you getting this error when your modem handshake, and error 678 appears at same time handshake sound ends, you need to disable 56K or increase the "Cancle call if not connected" time in Control Panel >> Modems>> Properties >> Connection.
Try it. |

Hello,
If you are using DSL Service then try following steps to find solution.
(1) Shut donw your computer and routher and modem. Now, remove yur ethernet cable from modem and swap the ends. After that give supply to your modem and when you find it stable then connect router and computer.
(2) If you have any type of Antivirus update then try to remove.
(3) Reinstall NIC card on your computer.
(4) Now try to connect using your ISP and check your line.
