Hello,
wdfmgr.exe is not a virus and nor a worm. But if you think this harm your computer then its very simply to remove wdfmgr.exe. Go to
start >> run
type services.msc in the box.
A service windows open which shows all services which running in your system. Find following service and close it. Its called "Windows User Mode Driver Framework". Double click on this and a new window open which shows service status and then click on Stop it. Now, open drop down box next to "startup type" and select disable. Then click on OK and you have done.
This will help to fix wdfmgr.exe problem. Go ahead and try this.
Best Of Luck. |

Hello Tran,
wdfmgr.exe may be virus. But wdfmgr.exe mosty used by Winamp 10. In my case i never used wmp 10 but wdfmgr.exe showed up in my task manager. I think wdfmgr.exe showed after XP service pack 2. Is this true? Is wdfmgr.exe showed up due to this service pack? |

Hello,
Again i want to make it clear wdfmgr.exe is not a virus but is a part to Microsoft Windows Media Player 10 and above.
I know when anyone look at this process in their task manager they guess that wdfmgr.exe is virus but its not a virus. It run when your windamp 10 is running. Do not try to shut down this process.
If you think wdfmgr.exe showed up after XP service pack 2. You can easily close wdfmgr.exe from your task manager. Just click on the process for bold and then click on End Process. And you have done.

hi,
wdfmgr.exe increase the compatiblity with the drivers and devices which support Windows Media Player 10. Any maleware can affect this wdfmgr.exe and can be virus. So regulary scan your computer from virus and if detected then its necessary to remove this infected file. But if you are not sure never terminate wdfmgr.exe from your system process. |

Hello Trasco,
If in your case wdfmgr.exe is virus or spyware. Then i sugest you to scan your computer with Norton Antivirus or AVG virus scan. Also scan your computer from Microsoft antispyware.

Hi,
Dont worry wdfmgr is not a virus not a maleware not a spyware not a adware. Its nothing but is a part of windows medial player.
If wdfmgr.exe run every time in your system process then you need to close wdfmgr. Its so simply to close this process by following this steps :
--> Go to start and run
--> Type : services.msc
A new window will open. Here you can see all the service which running on your computer. Find "Windows User Mode Driver Framework"
double click on it! In the new small window you see SERVICE STATUS. Cick on stop if you wish to stop. After that use the dropdown box next to STARTUP TYPE and select DISABLE. Click ok and close the window and your done. It will be gone of the task manager for good. I hope that helped you.
And which has been sayed about Media Player 10, i cant agree. I have no problem with it. the media player 10 which is now official available on microsofts website is not anymore a beta version, its version 10.00.00 3646. and I have no problem with burning cd's with nero or anything else.
For further question keep in contact.
Bye. |
